As grateful as I am for my epicurean chronicles, I know it's also because of those appliances, devices and gadgets I have that make it worthwhile.
In this season of Thanksgiving, I think these are the kitchen items I'm most grateful for, and I am sure when you pause to think about it, you surely will be thankful too. Look through my list of 10... or 9 to let me know what I left out.
1. The humble spoon, this is one item you may take for granted until you need to chow on some chowder. First crafted in wooden form by Egyptians over 1,000 years B.C., it is the most useful item in the kitchen in my opinion.
2. Try to wonder how life was before kitchen knives. I could hold my meat and bite into it, but what about onions, cakes, pizza. Yeah, I'm not living in a world without knives...ironic isn't it?
3. I got a set of plates from Walmart when i was moving to my place and I felt complete. Leaves are nice and fun, but ceramics win in my kitchen all the time.
4. Where else could I store my indulgences, if not in the freezer? Most parents and restaurants relate to the necessity of a freezer over the refrigerator, right?
5. Sieve everything; flour, pasta, vegetable, icing sugar, needless to say, every baker will appreciate this item on the list.
6. In 1802, Zachäus Winzler became a star in my book when delivered my future from the compulsory use of firewood cooking. Cookers! we know it, we love it...convenience!
7. Throw in the tomatoes, berries, celery, grain or spice it will make you proud to own it. Blenders are the joys of every food connoisseur. Did you know that there are special music that go with blending?
8. Cutting board is one of those items you don't realize you need until you do. Remember there are at least 6 types of cutting boards and they all have their uses.
9. Skimmer spoon or spider it's a blessing. Thank God for the Chinese who strapped metals together to form the spider strainer.
9. Okay tell me, what better way is there to enjoy this drink without cups?
10. Now you take this number. Do you think my choices could have been better? Let me know in the comment section, and I'll consider rushing out to buy it, well, unless I already have one.
